Michael Garcia grew up in Friona, Texas, known as the “Cheeseburger Capital of Texas.” As the oldest of four children, he did not grow up on a farm or ranch, but being surrounded by agriculture sparked an early interest in the industry, particularly the beef sector. That passion led him to pursue a degree in Agricultural Business and Economics at West Texas A&M University.

Although Michael never expected his career to take him from the beef sector into the dairy industry, his agricultural background and passion for cattle health and nutrition made the transition a natural fit. Over the past five years, his experience in herd management, customer relations, and health and heat monitoring has strengthened his knowledge of the industry and confirmed his passion for working in dairy.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys team roping and staying connected to the livestock industry. While he jokes that he may miss more than he catches, the competition and camaraderie keep him coming back. He also enjoys exploring new restaurants with his girlfriend.
