The Sciencing Challenge will be held as a playoff event. The winning team from each university will represent their school in the Finals at the ADSA Annual Meeting. There, the teams will compete for the grand prize of $1,200!

The Details

Teams of 1-3 members.
5 minutes to convey a pitch/proposal.
Pitch/proposal should connect research, ideas, and skills to current issues in Dairy Science.
Pitch/proposal can be based on a novel idea or an adaptation of current knowledge. It is not expected that a product or new technology will be developed.
Pitch/proposal can also revolve around a scientific proposal that leads to practical solutions to Dairy Science issues.
Judges will ask questions and rank teams based on communication skills, scientific soundness, critical thinking, problem solving, innovation, creativity, and feasibility of the pitch/proposal.
Preliminary data from the team is a plus, but not required.
Great prizes and certificates will be given to the best teams!

The Universities

The Final Round

The Final will be held at the 2026 ADSA Annual Meeting in Milwaukee, WI on Tuesday, June 23rd right before our Annual WI Breakfast Seminar & Networking event. Each University’s winning team will present their concept to the final judges to see who will win it all!

Grand Prizes:
1st Place: $1,200 cash
2nd Place: $600 cash
3rd Place: $300 cash

Cash split between team members.
